Alcatel Lucent testeaza Wimax in Romania

La doua saptamani de la premiera mondiala, producatorul de echipamente telecom Alcatel-Lucent a facut prima demonstratie de Wimax mobil, la Timisoara. Wimax-ul mobil in standardul Rev-e este considerat de reprezentantii Alcatel-Lucent urmatoarea mare premiera dupa lansarea sistemului GSM de comunicatii mobile. Aceasta tehnologie asigura conectarea mobila la internet de mari viteze si este considerata una de tip 4G. "Solutia ideala pentru conexiuni fixe la internet este fibra optica (cablu), dar in acelasi timp, daca vrei mobilitate, Wimax e solutia ideala. Concurenta va fi pe bucle locale, retele mobile care sa acopere cu internet mobil un oras intreg sau o zona, operate prin parteneriate public-privat de primarii. Vodafone Romania lanseaza un nou modem USB pentru utilizatorii serviciilor 3G broadband

Vodafone Romania lanseaza un nou modem USB pentru utilizatorii serviciilor 3G broadband, care poate fi folosit pentru laptopuri si pentru sisteme desktop si permite viteze de retea de pana la 3,6 Mbps si poate ajunge la 7,2 Mbps pentru urmatorul nivel de dezvoltare a serviciilor 3G broadband. Noul modem lansat de Vodafone, Pebble USB Modem, anticipeaza introducerea, in viitorul apropiat, a serviciilor 3G broadband de pana la 7,2 Mbps si HSUPA (High-Speed Uplink Packet Access), protocol de comunicatii folosit in comunicatiile mobile 3G. Vodafone Romania este cea de-a 7-a divizie Vodafone care a lansat Pebble USB Modem anul acesta, dupa Marea Britanie, Portugalia, Spania, Grecia, Egipt si Ungaria.

Asus M930, Prepared to Defy Nokia E90

Asus M930, announced more than a month ago to be a tough competitor for the Nokia E90 Communicator , will be commercially available at the beginning of 2008, for a price that is unknown yet. Several real photos of the handset recently appeared on the Internet, showing us that the handset is really capable of standing beside Nokia E90. Presented as Asus M930W, although on the front case there's only the "M930" name, the device is a tri-band GSM phone (900 / 1800 / 1900 Mhz) that supports EDGE, GPRS, 3G and HSDPA, thus allowing fast data transfers (up to 3.6 Mb per second). As all the latest Asus smartphones, the M930 has a powerful processor, a Marvel PXA27x 520 Mhz one, considerably more powerful than Nokia E90's processor, which only has 330 Mhz.
